About erectile dysfunction
Erectile dysfunction (ED) is very common and nothing to be embarrassed about. It can be caused by stress, tiredness, alcohol, medicines or underlying health conditions.
After a confidential consultation, your pharmacist can recommend prescription treatment where it is safe and appropriate for you.
Treatment options
Lifestyle changes
Stopping smoking, cutting down on alcohol, regular exercise and managing stress can all help improve erections.
Sildenafil
A prescription tablet used to treat erectile dysfunction. It is usually taken about an hour before sexual activity.
Tadalafil
A prescription tablet used to treat erectile dysfunction. Its effects can last for up to 36 hours, and it is also available as a lower daily dose.
Seeing your GP
Recommended if erectile dysfunction may be linked to another health condition, or if tablets are not suitable for you.
