About HPV
Human papillomavirus (HPV) is a very common virus. Some types can cause cervical cancer, other cancers and genital warts.
The NHS offers the HPV vaccine to young people through school and to certain other groups. If you missed out or are not eligible, you can have it privately with us.
Who it is for
- People who missed the NHS school programme and are no longer eligible
- Adults who want protection and are within the age range for the vaccine
- Suitability is checked by a pharmacist
How it works
- Book online and complete the health pre-screen
- Receive your first dose
- Complete the course as advised, as the number of doses depends on your age
Good to know
- Check whether you can still have the vaccine free on the NHS before booking.
- The vaccine works best before exposure to HPV, but can still offer protection later.
- Cervical screening is still important after vaccination.

Private services involve a consultation with a pharmacist. Treatment is only supplied where it is safe and clinically appropriate, and not everyone will be suitable. Fees apply and are shown when you book. If you feel very unwell, call NHS 111, or 999 in an emergency.
