The NHS Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) sends your prescriptions directly from your GP to the pharmacy of your choice. No paper, no detour, no fuss.
If you're tired of paper prescriptions getting lost or having to make a separate trip to the surgery, EPS is a small change that solves it. It takes us about thirty seconds to update.
The Electronic Prescription Service is an NHS scheme that lets your GP send your prescription electronically to a pharmacy of your choice — your "nominated" pharmacy. Once we are nominated, every future prescription from your GP arrives with us automatically. You then just collect, or use our free local delivery if you're in B29.
Once you nominate us — either by filling in the form below, telling your GP receptionist directly, or asking us in store — your record is updated within minutes. From then on:
Already nominated to another pharmacy? No problem. Filling in the form below will switch your nomination to Selly Pharmacy automatically — there's nothing else you need to do.
Yes. You can change or cancel your EPS nomination at any time, by asking us, your GP, or any other pharmacy. There's no contract and no commitment.
You can still use us for one-off prescriptions without nominating. EPS nomination is most useful for people who get repeat prescriptions and want them at the same place each time.
EPS works for the vast majority of NHS prescriptions. A small number of items (controlled drugs in some categories, certain specialist medications) still need a paper script — we'll let you know if any of yours fall into that category.
No. EPS itself is a free NHS service. Standard NHS prescription charges (or your existing exemption) apply exactly as they did before.
Complete the short form below and we'll process your nomination within one working day. You'll receive a confirmation by email when it's done.
Right on Bristol Road, directly opposite Tesco Express and the Esso petrol station — two minutes from Selly Oak station, opposite the University of Birmingham campus, with on-street parking nearby. Walk in, or call ahead — we're easy to find and easier to talk to.
