Selly Pharmacy
Bristol Road · B29

Free local delivery is part of our offer to the Selly Oak community. There is no charge, no minimum order, and no fuss — we just bring your medication to your door, usually the same day or the next working day.

If you are a regular customer, a housebound patient, a parent juggling small children, a student in halls, or someone whose mobility makes a trip to the high street difficult — this is for you. Just ask once, and we will set it up.

Areas we deliver to

Free delivery is available across the B29 postcode and the surrounding areas — including the closest streets in adjacent postcodes:

  • Selly Oak (B29) — including the streets immediately around Bristol Road, Oak Tree Lane, Raddlebarn Road and Heeley Road.
  • Bournbrook — Tiverton Road, Dawlish Road, Hubert Road, Teignmouth Road and the surrounding student streets.
  • Bournville — the eastern edge nearest us.
  • Selly Park — Pershore Road end and the streets running off it.
  • University of Birmingham halls and student housing within walking distance of Bristol Road.
  • Parts of Edgbaston and Harborne closest to Selly Oak — please ask and we will confirm.

How it works

  • Order your prescription in any of the usual ways — through our online repeat form, by phone on 0121 472 0155, in person, or via the NHS App if Selly Pharmacy is your nominated pharmacy on EPS.
  • Tell us you would like delivery rather than collection. If you are a new delivery customer, we will take a few details (full name, address, contact number) the first time only.
  • Once your medication is dispensed and ready, our delivery driver brings it to your door, usually the same day or the next working day, depending on time of order.
  • Someone over 16 needs to be at the address to receive Schedule 2-5 controlled drugs. For other prescriptions, we can leave with a neighbour or in a safe place if you ask us in writing.

Who is it for?

  • Housebound patients and people with limited mobility.
  • Patients on blister packs (we deliver weekly trays as standard).
  • Carers managing medication on behalf of a family member.
  • Working parents and busy professionals.
  • University of Birmingham students living in the area.
  • Anyone who finds it more convenient than coming in.

What it costs

Nothing. The delivery service is free of charge. You still pay your normal NHS prescription charge if applicable, but you do not pay for the delivery itself, regardless of order size or how often you order.

How to set it up

The fastest way is to call us on 0121 472 0155 during opening hours. Tell us you would like delivery and we will take a few details. Alternatively, drop us a line at hello@sellypharmacy.co.uk, or pop in.

If you have not yet nominated us on EPS, doing so means your prescriptions arrive electronically straight from your GP — no paper to chase. Nominate Selly Pharmacy on EPS here.

Frequently asked

Common questions

Quick answers about our free delivery service.

Is delivery really free?
Yes. There is no delivery charge, no minimum order, and no membership fee. You only pay your normal NHS prescription charge (if applicable).
How quickly will my prescription arrive?
Usually the same day or the next working day, depending on when your GP sends the prescription and what time you order. We will keep you informed if anything is delayed.
Do I need to be in to receive the delivery?
For most medications, no — we can leave with a neighbour or in a safe place if you give us written permission. For Schedule 2-5 controlled drugs, an adult over 16 must sign for them.
Can you deliver to halls of residence?
Yes. We deliver to University of Birmingham halls and student housing in Bournbrook and Selly Oak. Just give us your room number and any specific access instructions.
What if I'm not in B29?
Call us on 0121 472 0155 with your postcode and we will tell you whether we can deliver. We deliver to B29 and the surrounding areas, and can sometimes go a little further out for established customers.
Can a family member arrange delivery for me?
Yes, with your consent. Many of our regular delivery customers are arranged by a son, daughter or carer. Just call us with the patient's details.
