About flu vaccination
The flu vaccine helps protect you against the strains of influenza expected to circulate this winter. Flu can make you feel very unwell for a week or more, and it spreads easily in offices, lecture halls and shared homes.
Protection builds over around two weeks after your vaccination, so it is worth having it before flu starts circulating widely.
Who it is for
- Adults who are not eligible for a free NHS flu vaccination
- Anyone who wants protection for work, study, travel or caring for others
- People who want to avoid time off during the busy winter months
How it works
- Book online and complete a short health questionnaire
- Choose Bristol Road or our campus branch and a time that suits you
- A pharmacist checks you are suitable and gives the vaccine in your upper arm
Good to know
- Our private flu service runs from 13 November 2026 to 31 March 2027.
- If you are eligible for a free NHS flu jab, we will offer you that instead. See our NHS flu jabs page.
- A sore arm or feeling slightly under the weather for a day or two is common and normal.

Private services involve a consultation with a pharmacist. Treatment is only supplied where it is safe and clinically appropriate, and not everyone will be suitable. Fees apply and are shown when you book. If you feel very unwell, call NHS 111, or 999 in an emergency.
